My Experience at the English Corner
Last week, I had the opportunity to attend an English corner organized by my school. It was a great chance for students to practice speaking English in a relaxed and informal setting. I was excited to participate and improve my language skills.
When I arrived at the English corner, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of students who had gathered. There were students from different grades and majors, all eager to improve their English. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with conversations happening in every corner of the room.
To kick off the event, the organizers divided us into small groups and gave us a topic to discuss. My group had to talk about our favorite hobbies. At first, I felt a bit nervous speaking in front of others, but soon I realized that everyone was in the same boat. We all wanted to improve our English, so there was no need to be self-conscious.
During the discussion, I learned a lot from my groupmates. Their hobbies varied from playing sports to painting, and it was fascinating to hear about their interests. We took turns sharing our thoughts and opinions, and the conversation flowed naturally. Whenever I stumbled upon a word or struggled to express myself, my groupmates were very supportive and helped me find the right words.
After the small group discussions, we gathered in a larger circle to play some language games. These games were designed to test our vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills. It was a fun and interactive way to reinforce what we had learned during the discussion. I particularly enjoyed a game where we had to describe a word without using its name, and others had to guess it. It was challenging but entertaining.
As the English corner came to an end, I felt a sense of accomplishment. Not only had I practiced speaking English, but I had also made new friends who shared the same passion for language learning. It was inspiring to see so many students motivated to improve their English skills and support each other along the way.
Attending the English corner was a valuable experience for me. It reminded me of the importance of continuous practice and the benefits of immersing oneself in an English-speaking environment. I will definitely attend more English corners in the future and continue to strive for fluency in the language.

The Benefits of Reading English Books
Reading English books has always been an important part of my language learning journey. Not only does it improve my vocabulary and grammar, but it also exposes me to different writing styles and cultures. In this week's English journal, I want to share some of the benefits I have experienced from reading English books.
First and foremost, reading English books helps expand my vocabulary. Through reading, I come across new words and phrases that I might not encounter in everyday conversations. I make it a habit to look up unfamiliar words and add them to my vocabulary list. By doing so, I not only learn new words but also understand their context and how to use them appropriately.
Moreover, reading English books improves my grammar skills. When I read well-written books, I am exposed to proper sentence structures and grammatical patterns. This exposure helps me develop a better understanding of English grammar rules and allows me to apply them in my own writing and speaking. I have noticed a significant improvement in my sentence construction and overall grammar accuracy since I started reading English books regularly.
Furthermore, reading English books exposes me to different writing styles. Each author has their own unique way of storytelling and expressing ideas. By reading a variety of books, I am exposed to different writing techniques and literary devices. This exposure not only enhances my reading comprehension but also broadens my perspective on how to effectively communicate through writing.
In addition to language skills, reading English books also helps me gain insight into different cultures. Many books explore cultural themes, traditions, and historical events. By reading about different cultures, I am able to develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of the world around me. It allows me to see things from different perspectives and fosters empathy and cultural sensitivity.
Lastly, reading English books is a great way to relax and escape from the pressures of daily life. It is a form of entertainment that allows me to immerse myself in a different world and forget about my worries for a while. It is a pleasurable and productive way to spend my free time.
In conclusion, reading English books has numerous benefits for language learners. It expands vocabulary, improves grammar skills, exposes readers to different writing styles, and provides insights into different cultures. I highly recommend incorporating reading into your language learning routine. It is a rewarding and enjoyable way to enhance your English skills.

Chrtmas the most important festival in the western world. It falls on December 25th. When my mother and I stayed in America, we were invited by one of my mother's friends to have Chrtmas with an American famil
y. We bought some presents for our American friends on our way to their house.
They had prepared different kinds of gifts for their family and guests when we got to their house, such as Chrtmas candles, cakes, cards, little toys, bcuits and so on. A Chrtmas tree was placed in the comer of the brilliant hall. How beautiful it was! We were impressed by these. We had a big meal. After dinner, they told us some interesting stories about Chrtmas. We learned that Chrtmas had something to do with God. We went to bed at midnight. Though we knew the Santa Claus was not true, we were still waiting for the Santa Claus with white beard to bring us presents. And we received many beautiful presents the next morning.
Th Chrtmas was really unforgettable. Not only did I have a good time, but also I knew something about foreign culture.
