  二、在小学阶段适当加大听说训练,抓好学生基本功的全面发展。在小学时以听、说为主,而到中学后要求学生掌握听、说、读、写等一系列的各种技能,英语作为一种必备的工具,要求我们不能让学生学了英语后像得了“聋哑症”似的总表达不出来,这样就成了“哑巴”英语,这是普遍出现的一个问题。因此,我们在教学中应从视、听、说入手。同时,因为听、说、读、写四方面是紧密相连、互为一体的,所以在教学中会注重这四方面的技能训练,为以后的学习打下基础。

  三、加大句型训练、减少语法讲解。语法一直以来都是教学的难点。尤其是在小学阶段,小学阶段语法讲解很少,甚至不讲语法,外研版的五年级英语主要练习正在进行时和将来时态,语法知识点越来越多,教师讲得好,就像是给学生一把钥匙,学生对以前学过的语言现象会有更深的了解;但教得不当,学生则会感到枯燥无味,甚至对英语学习失去兴趣。对于语法教学,我们应该比较清楚地意识到学生在小学阶段已掌握了较多的句子,已经有了一定的感性经验,在此基础上,根据五年级学生已有一定的认知能力,并且观察力、概括力有所发展,我们注重引导学生通过现象自己来找出语言规律和特点。这比我们直接告诉、教授学生这是什么语法,那是什么语法要深刻得多。例如,英语中有很多句子都属于同一句型,平时,注重多读、多练这些句型,到了一定的阶段后,再进行归纳、总结,学生较容易接受。再以此为结构加入其它修饰成分,由浅入深,学生就会在不知不觉中,不断地探索中慢慢地掌握。总之,在句型训练的同时,应减少语法的讲解,把语法体现在句子中以减少语法的枯燥性。
