议论文英语作文初中 篇一:手机对学生学习的影响
With the rapid development of technology, smartphones have become an indispensable part of our daily lives. However, there is a growing concern about the impact of smartphones on students' learning. In my opinion, while smartphones provide convenience and access to information, they also pose distractions and hinder academic progress.
On one hand, smartphones offer students a wealth of knowledge and resources. With just a few taps, students can access the internet and find information related to their studies. This enables them to expand their knowledge beyond what is taught in the classroom and encourages independent learning. Moreover, smartphones also provide various educational apps and online courses, allowing students to learn at their own pace and explore different subjects. This convenience and accessibility can greatly enhance students' learning experience.
On the other hand, smartphones can easily become a source of distraction for students. The constant notifications, social media platforms, and addictive games can divert students' attention away from their studies. Students may find it hard to resist the temptation of checking their phones frequently, leading to decreased focus and productivity. Additionally, excessive use of smartphones can also negatively affect students' physical and mental health. Spending too much time staring at screens can cause eye strain and posture problems, while excessive use of social media can lead to feelings of loneliness and low self-esteem.
In order to mitigate the negative impact of smartphones on students' learning, it is important for both students and educators to establish boundaries and practice self-discipline. Students should be encouraged to set aside designated periods of time for studying without any distractions, including turning off their phones or keeping them in another room. Educators can also incorporate technology into the classroom in a controlled and purposeful manner, such as using educational apps or online resources as teaching aids.
In conclusion, while smartphones can be a valuable tool for learning, they also have the potential to hinder students' academic progress. It is crucial for students to strike a balance and use smartphones responsibly to maximize their learning potential.
议论文英语作文初中 篇二:学生是否应该参加课外活动
As students, we are constantly faced with the question of whether we should participate in extracurricular activities. Some argue that extracurricular activities distract students from their studies and should be avoided, while others believe that these activities contribute to a well-rounded education. In my opinion, participating in extracurricular activities brings numerous benefits to students and should be encouraged.
Firstly, extracurricular activities provide students with opportunities to develop various skills and qualities that cannot be acquired solely through academic studies. For example, joining a sports team can improve teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. Participating in the school choir or drama club can enhance creativity, self-expression, and public speaking abilities. These skills and qualities are essential for personal growth and future success, and cannot be fully developed within the confines of the classroom.
Secondly, extracurricular activities allow students to explore their interests and passions beyond the academic curriculum. Many students may have hidden talents or interests that are not addressed in their regular classes. By participating in clubs, teams, or organizations related to their interests, students have the opportunity to pursue their passions and develop a sense of identity and purpose. This can greatly contribute to their overall happiness and motivation in both academic and personal life.
Furthermore, engaging in extracurricular activities can also benefit students' college applications and future career prospects. Admissions officers and employers often look for well-rounded individuals who demonstrate commitment, leadership, and a diverse range of experiences. Active involvement in extracurricular activities can make a student stand out from the competition and provide evidence of their skills and abilities.
However, it is important for students to find a balance between their studies and extracurricular activities. Time management and prioritization skills are crucial to ensure that academic performance does not suffer. Students should learn to manage their time effectively, set realistic goals, and prioritize their commitments.
In conclusion, participating in extracurricular activities offers numerous benefits to students, including the development of important skills, exploration of interests, and enhancement of college and career prospects. As long as students are able to balance their academic responsibilities with their participation in extracurricular activities, they should be encouraged to pursue their passions outside the classroom.

It's Never Too LateSeveral years ago, while attending a communications course, I experienced a most unusual process. The instructor asked us to list anything in our past that we felt ashamed of, guilty about, regretted, or incomplete about. The next week he invited participants to read their lists aloud. This seemed like a very private process, but there's always some brave soul in the crowd who will volunteer. As people read their lists, mine grew longer. After three weeks, I had 101 items on my list. The instructor then suggested that we find ways to make amends, apologize to people, or take some action to right any wrongdoing. I was seriously wondering how this could ever improve my communications, having visions of alienating just about everyone from my life. The next week, the man next to me raised his hand and volunteered this story:"While making my list, I remembered an incident from high school. I grew up in a small town in Iowa. There was a sheriff in town that none of us kids liked. One night, my two buddies and I decided to play a trick on Sheriff Brown. After drinking a few beers, we found a can of red paint, climbed the tall water tank in the middle of town, and wrote, on the tank, in bright red letters: Sheriff Brown is an s.o.b. The next day, the town arose to see our glorious sign. Within two hours, Sheriff Brown had my two pals and me in his office. My friends confessed and I lied, denying the truth. No one ever found out."Nearly 20 years later, Sheriff Brown's name appears on my list. I didn't even know if he was still alive. Last weekend, I dialed information in my hometown back in Iowa. Sure enough, there was a Roger Brown still listed. I dialed his number. After a few rings, I heard: `Hello?' I said: `Sheriff Brown?' Pause. `Yup.' `Well, this is Jimmy Calkins. And I want you to know that I did it.' Pause. `I knew it!' he yelled back. We had a good laugh and a lively discussion. His closing words were: `Jimmy, I always felt badly for you because your buddies got it off their chest, and I knew you were carrying it around all these years. I want to thank you for calling me。
